I am the one who will dance on the floor in the round

the kid is not my son….Its good to be back. I was out with some friends earlier and i said to myself ” you gotta keep the blog up, go home and post something”. Then i got up, ate one of Dana’s fries wiped my greased hand on the back of my leg gave em a shout g’bye, hopped in the porsche and rolled back to my crib.
So many things have happened since september, I moved back to los angeles back to my old room and now things are feeling stagnant. I am looking for projects to shoot, slowly ideas are simmering on my mental stove which is good because its something to keep my mind busy while i work away the days in the gallery. Besides everybody knows the good shit takes a while to cook. (now im thinking about cooking, im gonna roll with it) If life were a tenderizing method, i’d like to think of myself as a marinator but my mind zaps up ideas like a microwave. I usually toss those radioactive thoughts aside. or take em out a minute early, realize they are cold and figure out what to do with the shit thats warm around the edges. Alot of the shit i think up has no meat, it aint hot in the middle. no core, i think its ready to chow on but i stick my fork in it like a hungry lumberjack only to find out inside is frozen as penguin’s dick. I dunno. Maybe thats what im doing in LA now, marinating. Although i am having a good time here i’m looking to get out of california and waiting for some things to rise up in my head like a loaf of 7 grain bread. Apparently you can’t microwave dough. Do ideas fall from the sky like manna from trees? i’ll check the weather for it.
B/W is Tri-X 400 Color is Fuji Provia 100 or Fuji Astia 100. All processed as normal.
Darts in the backyard with my brother, “Kid Precision” and my grandfather “Papa No Score”.

My grandfather teaching me how to box.

This is a color image.

Thomas, works at THE HUNDREDS and skates for Diamond Supply, or vice versa.

Fuji Astia at the very end of golden hour.

Los Angeles, provia 100 on bulb setting for about 4 seconds. i set the camera down on a ledge that i thought was straight. im thinking i set the camera down on its own strap OR it was straight until i depressed the shutter which made it tilt to the right. im going to try this shot again next time im at that vantage point.

this dress was made from a window curtain.

How would you feel if the gun you were shot with was pink? i’d probably feel like a fuckin idiot

When the man is back he’s back! And talking in all kinds of food metaphors. Damn – you’re making me hungry! I haven’t had breakfast yet.
This made me laugh: “Maybe thats what im doing in LA now, marinating.”

Gorgeous! Can’t take my eyes off of it.

Haha, Susan’s right about the metaphors .. they make hungry. But definitly fun to read
.. Great photos. Like the color shots, first one which Suzan has mentioned is great, love the colors together with her pose, nice scene. The one with the curtrain dress is another great one, the red and green just fit so well together, right shot to use color. Oh and thanks for mentioning the used films every time. Good to know your choice. And sure makes curious to get one or the other film myself.

i’m kinda relieved that i just had a snack. otherwise i would’ve run for the fridge before looking at the photos
great shots as usual! your color work always amazes me. do you develop the color films yourself?
the last two photos of your brother throwing the darts show some really nice motion.
love the little details on the long exposure…eg the light-trails of the planes passing by.

I think the Los Angeles shot is cool like it is!
It dosen’t always have to be straight!
Great shots! Glad your back man!

never forget one thing about cooking..
sometimes you just have to chop that fucking tuna up and eat it raw.
you never know how good something is unless you taste it, you taught me that, so stop squabbling over your microwave woes and dig into some sashimi.
